Pediatric Traumatology

Pediatric traumatology is of the utmost importance as children’s issues are very special and should be treated differently from those of adults.

Pediatric orthopedics and traumatology deal with trauma lesions in children, such as fractures caused by accidents. They adapt to the type of lesion, the child’s age, and related complications and lesions. But there is also a series of pathologies associated with growth which only affect children – hip lesions, limb and bone growth, congenital issues… Receiving specific care from an early age will prevent more serious problems from occurring in the future.

POLICLÍNICA NTRA. SRA. DEL ROSARIO RECOMMENDS THAT YOU SEE YOUR PEDIATRIC TRAUMATOLOGIST DURING YOUR CHILD’S GROWTH

Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario places a special focus on children’s growth variations so that they can be studied from a very early age and the problem is adequately solved. Our ultrasonographist – hip ultrasonography – performs a test in the newborn, which allows any potential hip abnormality to be ruled out (currently, 3% of the population suffers from some kind of hip malformation of various degrees of severity). The test, which is quick and utterly painless, entails absolutely no risk for the baby. The advantage of diagnosing such malformations in the newborn lies in the simple and effective nature of the treatment, which is free of surgery, as compared to the potential complications they may face in the future, where surgery is inevitable and the likelihood of fully solving the problem is reduced.
